Orthodontics for Every Smile
Orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics is one of the recognized dental specialties. It’s focused on diagnosing, preventing, intercepting, and treating malocclusion, or misalignment of the teeth and/or jaw.
Orthodontists like Dr. Piskai are dentists, and they complete four years at an accredited dental school. But, after dental school, they go on to attend two to three more years of specialty training in a residency program. It’s during their residency that they gain expertise in treating dental and facial irregularities with appliances like braces, palatal expanders, and Invisalign®.
Orthodontists truly have the best training and experience to effectively and safely treat a wide range of orthodontic concerns. Dr. Piskai took the additional, voluntary step of becoming board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. This means she completed hundreds of extra hours of preparation and examinations to demonstrate her ability to offer the highest level of patient care.
